Bob Dole To Rush Limbaugh: Get Real

February 4, 2008

Bob DoleFor whatever reason, Rush Limbaugh has spent much of his time attacking Mike Huckabee and John McCain. It seems he is a closeted Rombot. And that is just sad. Distinguished Senator and war hero Bob Dole recently wrote a letter to Rush trying to set him straight on McCain.

Did Limbaugh serve in the Senate and observe McCain’s voting record? Um, no. Bob Dole did.

I was the Republican Leader from January 1985 until I left the Senate voluntarily in June 1996. I worked closely with Senator McCain when he came to the Senate in 1987 until I departed. I cannot recall a single instance when he did not support the Party on critical votes.

How about a laundry list proving that John McCain is not a dirty liberal? OK.

  1. Consistent pro-life record
  2. Strong advocate for strict constructionist judges
  3. Supported voluntary school prayer
  4. Supported Constitutional Amendment for a Balanced Budget
  5. Strong advocate for reducing spending and opposing pork barrel “ear marks” which has, I might add, angered some of his colleagues
  6. Consistent on defending Second Amendment rights
  7. Opposed “Hillary Care” which would have been devastating
  8. Probably the Senate’s strongest advocate for strong national defense

What more do you need, El Rushbo? A cabinet position?

Mitt RomneyIf your favorite chameleonic robot (since you don’t attack him, it’s pretty obvious), Mitt Romney, is guaranteed to lose. And you know what that means.

Whoever wins the Republican nomination will need your enthusiastic support. Two terms for the Clintons are enough.

Is Rush perhaps eagerly anticipating the heady days of the Clinton Administration when he got to be on the attack against the libs day after day? Perhaps. Because Mitt Romney cannot win. Mark my words.

Bob Dole - War HeroAnd unlike Mittens, both McCain and Dole have served our country, honorably. Something you never got around to doing. You even claimed that by working for your campaign your sons were serving their country. Doesn’t McCain have sons in the military, actually serving our great nation in the war against militant Islam, unlike you?

McCain is a friend and I proudly wore his P.O.W. bracelet bearing his name while he was still a guest at the “Hanoi Hilton.” I believe our major candidates are mainstream conservatives and that our nominee will address our concerns by keeping taxes low, reducing corporate taxes, protecting and assisting the vulnerable, strengthening our traditional values, and above all, keeping America strong militarily, whatever the cost.

What more do you need? While Mike Huckabee would be a much stronger social conservative, it looks like it may be a choice between McCain and Mittens. If that’s the choice, it ain’t Mittens. Springtime is almost here.

Lighten up, Rush. Stop burning those bridges, unless you’re secretly rooting for Hitlery. And if you are, we’re done. Buh bye. And take Trannie Annie with you.

The Free Republic Endorsement

January 31, 2008

Jim RobinsonJim Robinson, founder of the most significant conservative news site on the Internet, Free Republic, has decided to make an endorsement announcement now that there are only three candidates (plus loony Ron Paul) in the race.  He provides seven reasons to support…drumroll please

Mike Huckabee!

First, as to the other two available choices:

McCain is insane and there are many good reasons not to choose him, but I’ll list just five: McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain-Lieberman, the Keating 5, and the Gang of 14. No thanks. McCain is out!

Romney ran on a pro-abortion platform, is pro gay rights, is prone to BIG government solutions, promises anything to anyone for a vote, and flip-flops on important issues. Can’t trust him.

Pretty darn solid reasoning there, Jim.  We apparently think alike regarding those two clowns.  Now, what’s the influential head Freeper have to say about Mike Huckabee?

Now Governor Huckabee. Could this be the good vs evil? He’s a Baptist minister. A genuine 100% pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, Southron Christian social conservative!

And his first five of seven reasons for supporting former Governor Mike Huckabee are:

And that would be my reason no. 1 to support Huckabee. He has the trust and backing of the Christian evangelicals and the support of the Bible Belt. You cannot win the presidency without the South, and I believe the pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-America Mike Huckabee is the most likely of the three GOP hopefuls to carry the South. And that’s a pretty darn good reason!

My number two reason is that he is NOT McCain (and that’s a pretty darn good reason too).

Number three (and this will be a tough one for a lot of my FReeper Friends) is that he is NOT Romney.

Numbers four and five are he’s NOT Hillary and NOT Obama. Oohrah!

You’ll have to read the whole thing for his final two reasons and his scathing assessment of RINO Rudy Giuliani.  It’s worth it!

Thank you Jim, for refusing to fall for that empty suit, Mittens Romney.  But, heck.  That’s a no brainer, isn’t it?

The Iowa Caucus Results

January 3, 2008

Iowa CaucusJust a quick post, which I will update in a bit, maybe.

I was right.

  1. Huckabee 34%
  2. Romney 25%
  3. McCain 13%
  4. Thompson 13%

And I may still be right about the party of treason:

  1. Obama 38%
  2. Clinton 29%
  3. Edwards 30%

Although Clinton and Edwards are still locked in mortal combat for second place.

Chris Dodd (DemocRAT) will drop out of the race.

Chuck Norris is a happy man tonight.

It’s been a good night for America. G-d bless Iowa. G-d bless you all.

Update: It looks like Fred Thompson may have moseyed his way into third place at the last minute. Congratulations to grandpa Fred.

Update 2: Ha ha – Kookspinach and Gravel got 0 votes! Dodd got 1, Biden got 23, Richardson got 51. Note to Kookspinach and Gravel: give it up. It’s over. Ron Paul at 10% gets 5th. Buh bye, Ronnie. It’s downhill from here. Ghouliani got a whopping 4%. So much for your winning strategy, Rudy.

Update 3: Joe Biden to drop out as well after an anemic performance. Please drop out too, Rudy Giuliani.

Update 4: Further predictions: Hunter won’t stick it out much longer, although he might well be on the short list for Secretary of Defense.  Cox will keep up his silent running candidacy, but nobody will notice.  Those who do will laugh.  Paul will stick it out to the bitter end, taking home lots of suckers’ money just like the last time he ran.  Thankfully he hasn’t got a prayer.  Let me know if I’ve missed anything.

Brainstorming

December 14, 2007

SonriseI’m just brainstorming here, but given the current Huckaboom and hints at a potential Huckasweep, I think I’ve come up with a good campaign slogan for Mike Huckabee. Huck, you’re free to use this.

Sonrise in America

Maybe some of you are too young to remember Reagan’s “Morning in America” ads that revived optimism after the malaise days of the disastrous Jimmah Carter Presidency had finally been stamped. And Ed Rollins, who recently signed on to Huckabee’s campaign, engineered that 1984 landslide victory for the Reagan/Bush Administration.

Here’s that ad. Roll the tape.

It’s time for a new morning in America, it’s time for a Sonrise. In His Holy name. Amen.

Reflections on Today’s GOP Debate

December 12, 2007

Mike Huckabee on Bass!I agree with much of what was said about today’s debate after I saw a replay. I think it was stupid to have it on in the middle of the day when most people are working. But it didn’t matter much. It was pretty darn boring.

I’m going to have to agree with ABC’s assessment. Mike Huckabee won. He didn’t do anything out of the ordinary, however. He was just himself. The reason I say he won is that he had the momentum, the so-called Huckaboom, going into this debate, and he didn’t mess up. So he still has that momentum going for him.

The very fact that he wasn’t gutted like a fish and eviscerated by his opponents, who were all pretty lackluster, allowed him to win by default. And Huck was actually asked questions beyond the narrow scope of religion and faith today.

Alan Keyes actually came off looking like the fire and brimstone fundamentalist candidate tonight. By contrast, aw shucks Huck appeared more like a friendly next door neighbor guy whose faith is important to him, but not in a threatening way. He wouldn’t have appeared scary even to secular types. I’m sure that reassured moderate Republicans and swing voters.

One thing a lot of people seemed to have missed, however, was how the debate ended. The moderator closed with “happy holidays.” There it was, right in your face, and many seemed to have missed it. If she’d have said as much at the beginning of the debate, her agenda would have been made clear and the candidates could have filed out in unison.

The War on Christmas is real, friends. And unless we stand up for our beliefs, we will lose. Disgusting.

Update: Here’s an outtake from the debate, in which Ambassador Alan Keyes recites Ezekiel 25:17.  I think you also see Ron Paul at the end of the clip.

Matt Drudge: Hot for Romney

December 12, 2007

Matt DrudgeI’ve been pretty disgusted with the anti-Christian bigotry at the once great Race 4 2008 recently.  They’ve taken to attacking Mike Huckabee, a great Christian Leader of late.  Frankly it’s seemed more like Mitt 4 2008 recently.  That makes me sad.

But what has also taken me completely by surprise is Matt Drudge, the original Internet reporter/muckraker joining in and piling on.  Well it turns out, he just might be a tad biased.

Something to keep in mind as Matt Drudge continues his effort to take down Mike Huckabee: Huckabee poses the most immediate and serious threat to Mitt Romney.

As John Harris of the Washington Post first reported in October 2006, Drudge has an unusually close relationship with a senior Romney strategist, Matt Rhodes.

Unusually close?  Yecch.  Is Matt hott for Mitt or Matt?  I dunno.  Developing….

Should Iowan Voters Heed the Advice of a Talk Show Host?

December 12, 2007

OprahThe extremes to which some folks will go to gain power and in turn wield that power on the populace majority is in the case of some, more specifically, Democrats, downright preposterous!

Oprah Winfrey hit the campaign trails with the freshman lawmaker from Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in recent days. Oprah said this to reporters, what we need, she said after a nervous beginning, is a new way of doing politics in Washington. A trick as old as the history of political campaigning itself.

Well, pardon me, folks, but if all those good voters in Iowa vote in a man who hasn’t the experience compared to that of a kindergartner in politics, on the basis of an appeal by Oprah Winfrey, then they are much less perspective on matters of our State of the Union than I first thought.

Sen. Obama hasn’t been in the Senate but for a short period of time, likewise, he hasn’t been a frequent participant in hearings on the Senate floor, in deciding on the tough issues the American people grapple with every single day, and most of the issues he’s talked about are those that he has not helped to decide on…and don’t get me wrong, folks, it’s not an issue of race here, we are long over-due for giving someone of the other race an opportunity as our Leader; and equally important to break down the male hold on the Presidency.

ObamaSo it has nothing to do with race or gender, but more specifically with the person who has the experience and the right goals in mind for the good of America, the agenda that will set our Nation forward in the right direction, a direction of moral principles, ending Abortion, setting the standard for marriage, children in our schools, our school systems need major proposals for abolishing the Liberal propaganda that is being force-fed to them.

The candidate who has these credentials and believes in a principle of morality for the good of mankind, and earned them, mind you, is the person qualified to lead…

As for Oprah Winfrey, undoubtedly there are those who would believe Winfrey herself to be that person. Unfortunately, through interviewing people as a talk show host from which she has been made a billionaire, while certainly, admirably, hardly qualifies her for that job or, for that matter, for telling us whom she thinks is. Not to mention the fact the party she is supporting (Communist Liberal Democrats) disqualifies her to an even greater degree.

My advice….People should take a little extra time and get a sense of perspective of where we’re at now, and where they want the country to go, and what the best course of action would be to take on the issues, and who has those goals in mind.

As for me, Vote Mike Huckabee ‘08!

Why Paul Mirengoff Is an Idiot

December 5, 2007

Paul MirengoffI’ve seen this anti-Huckabee post from Powerline going around and I just can’t keep silent about it anymore. Powerline is a “respected” blog. G-d only knows why. It was named Time’s blog of the year. And Time, as far as I’m concerned, isn’t even fit to be used as toilet paper. It’s not soft. It’s not absorbant. It’s full of lies and bullcrap. They even, in their heyday, made Adolph Hitler their man of the year. So I suppose making PowerTools their blog of the year isn’t really out of character.

Paul Mirengoff wrote a particularly loathesome column, or rather vomited one, on the front page of PowerSlime recently that should rightfully anger any right thinking Christian. Paul, if you’re reading this, perhaps you should crack open a KJV Bible someday. It might do you some good, you sickening nerd. And you might consider a makeover, too. Really. Look at that picture in the upper right. I mean yow. Yeccch.

Now I wrote a much more diplomatic argument against Mirengoff’s disgusting diatribe in general over at Conservatives United, but I can cut to the chase and give you the straight dope here at B4C. Here’s Paul’s repulsive arguement against Huckabee. And keep a barf bag on standby folks, because it’s going to be a bumpy ride:

My main objection to Huckabee — the reason why he’s my fifth choice out of five — is that I lack confidence in his ability to fight terrorism.

Based on what, you vile toady?

The real problem is that he’s too moralistic.

Translation: too much like Christ.

Now we learn (but are surprised) that Huckabee opposes waterboarding and would close the Guantanamo Bay detention center. Huckabee reached this conclusion after meeting with a group of retired generals (the usual suspects, I assume) who are lobbying candidates to oppose Bush administration interrogation and detention policies.

When you assume, Mengele, you make an ass out of you and me. Would somebody please waterboard Paul until he wets his pants in fear?

I suspect that Huckabee required little lobbying. Waterboarding and long-term detention aren’t very “Christian”;

Oh, giggle, giggle. You slay me, you funny comedienne! Such wit! It’s astonishing! And your point is that’s a good thing, right? You like the idea of torture, don’t you? You love it. It really gets you excited, doesn’t it? What do you dream about at night, you repulsive jackass? Have you ever prayed to G-d, Paul? Have you been born again through Jesus Christ? Ah, I didn’t think so. So let’s continue….

they merely keep terrorists out of action and, in special circumstances enable us to find out where we’re going to be attacked next and/or where we can find those who are planning the next attacks.

Which “special circumstances” are you talking about, Paul? Care to cite some, you know, real world examples?  Humor me.

But if Huckabee actually did reach his position based on the views of a handful of generals, and without consulting the people actually charged with protecting this country from terrorists, then he’s even less qualified to be president than I suspect.

So, generals aren’t good enough for you, are they, Paulie? Who do you think is actually charged with protecting this country from terrorists, eh? You? Don’t make me laugh. What rank did you achieve when you served our country? Hmmmm? If you’re a pimply little know it all who knows nothing whatsoever about fighting the war on terror, I put it to you that you are not qualified to pass judgement on Mike Huckabee, you stinky little turd.

I’m sorry for my use of language, but this makes me really mad. It’s as if Mike Huckabee isn’t bloodthirsty enough for some, including the bloodthirsty lunatic Paul Mirengoff. Just remember that Jesus Christ died on the cross to save you from your sins, Paul. If you are judging Huck because he is not willing to torture others so that you can get your rocks off, you have a one way ticket to hell. And good riddance. You disgust me. Utterly.

Paul, take a little friendly advice and just shut the hell up. Thanks, on behalf of a grateful nation.

The Future of Our Nation!

December 1, 2007

Mike HuckabeeAt present, it is a little less than a year from now that Americans will be making their way to the polls to once again decide the future of this Great Nation; in choosing a Presidential candidate who will lead the way. This is the way it’s always been, government created ‘by the people’, and, ‘for the people’. However, in all the documents and laws penned by man, there is one Law that stands above all the words of man combined … God’s Holy and precious Word!

The Freedom and prosperity of this triumphant Nation that we get to enjoy every single day, come from Our Creator. He inspired the men of the Bible to write for us standards, in which we may live by in order that we may humbly implore His Holy and Righteous favor. Thus, our very future rests upon our willingness to put Him first in this Nation….Thus, our Laws should follow accordingly…How?

We start by allowing God to deal with our hearts, come into our lives and cleanse us from all unrighteousness and when election day comes, we ask that He give us the knowledge and wisdom to make the right choice in choosing the candidate that acknowledges God as Creator and seeks His favor, not so much for personal gain, but in making the decisions that will affect each and every one of us.

I Like Mike

Holy Cross of JesusI believe Mike Huckabee is that person. Mike Huckabee is a man who has lead a life in the Church, and when I say the ‘Church’, I’m talking about all those who have accepted Christ into their life, and that’s an important point; you see, the Church excludes the different denominations, it encompasses every one, in every denomination, who has accepted Christ. You know, religion can divide us as much as or more than politics can, in regards to theological belief systems, but there’s one message that will never divide us … ‘Christ Crucified’. Amen?

What are Mike Huckabee’s stances on the issues? I’ll go over a few…

The Issues

Mike Huckabee opposes abortion,same-sex marriages and civil unions.

He’s right on all three …

Abortion

Our Nation took a severe blow to our Christian heritage and Constitution in 1973 when Roe V. Wade was enacted. Roe V. Wade is nothing more than a license to Murder, it has brought untold bloodshed on this Nation, Forever stained. With nearly 50,000,000 little innocent lives snuffed out … the little Babies blood cries out in want for someone to save them!!!

I am confident that Mike Huckabee would do his very best to see an end to this barbaric Evil!!!

Marriage

Marriage - One Man, One WomanOn same-sex marriage–God’s Word says, in Leviticus 18: 22–Do not lie with a man as one lies with a woman; that is detestable.

Mike Huckabee says, “I would try to do the same things that I did as governor of Arkansas, where I led a constitutional amendment that was passed overwhelmingly by our voters that affirmed what marriage is. Marriage is a relationship between one man, and one woman, for Life. I also believe that we need to do other things. I declared a state of marital emergency in our state, called pastors and other clergy together to commit to community marriage policies, to not engage in carrying on marriages unless they had counseled with the couple beforehand. We were one of the few states that passed a covenant marriage bill in Arkansas. I would support strongly and lead–not just support, but lead–an effort to have a constitutional amendment to affirm marriage as between one man, one woman, for life.”

Source: 2007 GOP Values Voter Presidential Debate Sep 17, 2007

He’s right on the money, again … and it’s time to strike down the sick bill that Bill Clinton signed into law, the “don’t ask, don’t tell,” law.

Justice

The Gavel of JusticeMike Huckabee supports the Death Penalty.

God instituted the Death Penalty that grants some authority over people who commit acts of murder and other crimes against humanity–Genesis 9:6 Whoever sheds the blood of man, by ban shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man.

God instituted governments to carry out the laws of the land.

Romans 13:1-4 – Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. For he is God’s servant to do you good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword for nothing. He is God’s servant, an agent of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer.

So, you see, we would have far less crime in our major cities and metropolitan areas if we federally mandated the Death Penalty.

The current system just will not work, because the existing laws give the opportunity for appeals, and thus, time is not on the peoples side, people are dying at the hands of Murderers. Don’t get me wrong, a trial must be conducted, it is the fair way, but we must do away with any appeals, parole etc, etc. We must carry it out as swiftly as possible, and in turn, it will send the message that, ‘We don’t allow Murder’.

God

PrayerMike Huckabee also believes that God has a rightful place within our school systems, in prayer and teaching. Evolution is unacceptable. Children must be afforded the opportunity to hear the message of Truth from God’s Word!!!

These are the primary reasons I support Mike Huckabee, and I am aware that there other issues which need to be addressed, but I think these are the issues that affect us in far greater implications that some may realize.

Conclusion

Mike Huckabee will be a tremendous help to this Nation … As I’ve said though, it is ultimately up to the people to decide which direction they want America to go…They can choose God as their guide, or they can choose their own conscience, the problem with the conscience is that when we start to think, the flesh tends to do the thinking for us.

We must rely upon Almighty God to help us make the right decisions!!

God bless,
~Jeremiah

Jonah Goldberg Heaps Praise on Ron Paul

November 20, 2007

Ron Paul Revolution?I must say that this was a bit of a surprise. With most sensible people speaking out against or ignoring the long shot Ron Paul campaign, Jonah comes in and puts it all in perspective. From the LA Times:

As the hopeless but energetic presidential campaign of Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) builds momentum in name recognition, fundraising and cross-ideology appeal, media conservatives are beginning to attack Paul in earnest.

I don’t know about that characterization. It seems some in the media realize that they finally have to pay some marginal attention to the little fella. So now they’re reporting the truth about the man, his record, the precarious cliff he’d like to lead us off of, and how eager his lemming followers are to take that giant leap. If reporting the facts about Ron Paul is an attack, well, so be it.

Republican consultant David Hill condemns the candidate’s “increasingly leftish” positions. Syndicated columnist Mona Charen calls Paul “too cozy with kooks and conspiracy theorists.” Film critic and talk radio host Michael Medved looks over Paul’s supporters and finds “an imposing collection of neo-Nazis, white Supremacists, Holocaust deniers, 9/11 ‘truthers’ and other paranoid and discredited conspiracists.”

But other than that, Ron Paul’s super awesome! Nice job, Jonah. Now we all feel much better. But he goes farther:
